Cookies

Cookies are small files placed in the memory of your browser, which are downloaded when you visit a website. Cookies are text files which are stored in the memory of your device and contain information about the pages you have visited and their lifespan cookiescookies are stored in the memory of your device and contain information about the site you are visiting and the lifetime of the particular cookie, as well as an encrypted browser identifier.

There are two basic types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. The first are stored for the duration of the session, i.e. the period during which the user is logged on to the website or remains on the website at all. Cookies permanent cookies, on the other hand, are files that will only be deleted from the user’s device after a specific period of time.

In web analytics, inconspicuous cookies are a powerful tool for tracking user behaviour on a website and gaining insight into, for example, whether they are in the habit of returning to the site.
