XML

XML stands for eXtensible Markup Languagewhich in Polish means extensible markup language. It is referred to by many as a universal formal language that allows various data to be represented in a structured way. In reality, .XML documents are only used to store data, and it is not possible to perform any actions with the information they contain.

It is worth mentioning that XML originated as an attempt to create a language that would be user-friendly as well as computer- or device-friendly. The essence of the existence of this technology is therefore its simplicity and universality, which allows it to work regardless of platform or operating system. Since February 1998, XML has been the standard recommended by the W3C, the organisation that oversees the standardisation of patterns for writing and sending documents over the web.
