RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is actually a group of markup languages that allow the creation of simple information messages. In fact, the term is used to refer to an entire technology that makes it possible not only to construct such messages, but also to distribute them through so-called channels.

Installing RSS on one’s own website makes it possible to send information to the subscribers of a feed, e.g. about new entries, changes or news. Using RSS feeds allows you to collect all the news from different portals in one place, which is a convenient way to stay ‘up to date’ with your favourite blogs or other portals without having to visit them.

To be able to subscribe to a feed, it is necessary to implement it on a specific page. Receiving messages, however, requires appropriate software. This can be either dedicated applications or built-in modules in web browsers.
