Networking in a business context means establishing new and maintaining existing relationships. The aim is not only to acquire new customers or business partners, but also to improve one’s own qualifications or participate in interesting projects.
Nowadays, the idea of networking is gaining more and more importance, which has also been fostered by the existence of social media platforms specifically designed for such purposes. One example of this is LinkedIn, whose functionalities allow people to create their own network of contacts, search for jobs or even employees.
It is thanks in part to the nature of networking that it has become apparent that direct competition is not just something to be fought against. In fact, it often turns out to be more helpful than originally expected.
