Duplicate content
Duplicate content is, simply put, the conscious or unconscious duplication of content. The term refers both to texts placed on various subpages of a given website and to those present on external portals.
How does content duplication occur? In the case of online shops, it may be the result of automatically downloading product descriptions from a wholesaler’s system or copying them from a competitor’s website. Another scenario in which the same content is posted on different subpages may be setting up identical descriptions for similar products, differing only in colour or dimensions.
According to current guidelines and best practices, you should be wary of duplicate content, and instead create unique, original content. In this way, you can only score points in the eyes of search engines.
