CMS

The main reason for the existence of any content management system is to make processes such as the creation or administration of websites as easy and simple as possible. Today’s CMS offer a user-friendly interface that can be handled by beginners and, at the same time, allows significant (from the webmaster’s perspective) changes to be made to the portal – both visually and technically.

In terms of popularity, WordPress is undoubtedly the leader among content management systems, with almost a third of all websites on the Internet being “hosted” by WordPress. For standard websites and portals, other notable alternatives are Joomla! and Drupal. Online shops, categorised as e-commerce-type portals, often use content management systems such as Magento or Prestashop.
