Penguin update

Penguin is an algorithm that is used by the search engine Google to determine the position of pages in search results. The programme was introduced in 2012, which resonated with SEO professionals. This was dictated by the fact that Penguin completely revolutionised the methods of conducting optimisation activities.

The main goal of the algorithm was to eliminate sites with a low-quality inbound link profile from ranking. Sites with links from sources of questionable reputation were significantly affected by the introduction of the algorithm. These included, above all, spam sites, sites participating in link exchange systems or so-called SEO directories.
